A Time to Speak
Little Jewin's healing began in the TV repair shop of his father, Chandra. While Chandra fixed televisions, Gospel for Asia missionary Rohit Bandi asked God to repair Jewin's broken voice.
Six-year-old Jewin was the joy of his family. His parents' first child had died a year before Jewin was born. By the time he was two, Jewin's parents realized that something was wrong with him. Doctors told them he would be mute for life.
Chandra was a hardworking man, and he spent years and all his hard-earned money taking his son to doctors, witch doctors and many others. But no one offered any hope.
One morning, Chandra walked into the tea shop where he often took a tea break with the other men in his village. During this break, Rohit came and began speaking about Jesus Christ. Chandra listened, hearing that all things were possible with Christ and that Jesus provided rest to the heavy-laden. But he soon left to go back to work.
“Did You Know?
More than 16,500 native missionaries serve with Gospel for Asia in 10 Asian nations.” Rohit continued sharing the Gospel, and one of the other men in the tea shop asked him to go down the street and pray for a little six-year-old boy who couldn't speak.
When Rohit entered the TV repair shop, he was surprised to see Chandra again. He shared the Gospel once more, and little Jewin and his mother, Sunita, listened while his father kept working.
For the first time, Sunita felt hope for her only son. She shared their story with Rohit and asked him to pray for Jewin. As faith grew in her heart that day, she trusted Christ to save her and heal her son. Before leaving the TV shop, Rohit laid his hands on Jewin and asked the Lord to touch him.
The next day, Jewin and both his parents attended Rohit's church service. Chandra's heart was touched at the service, and he too received salvation. With newfound faith, Chandra and Sunita joined the believers at the church in praying for Jewin's complete healing.
Just one week later, Sunita's heart overflowed with joy when she heard her son speak his first words. Jewin's healing has led several other people to salvation, and his parents have become enthusiastic witnesses of the Gospel to their neighbors and anyone who comes to their shop.
