A Bridge of Hope for Children in Chhattisgarh

Gospel for Asia missionary Jobi Masih has a burden to bring hope to the children in his home village in Chhattisgarh, India. Having grown up in this area himself, he knows that their lives provide little hope for the future. That's why Jobi was thrilled when his village received a Bridge of Hope center.
The center not only boosts the children's educational opportunities, it also gives them hope. The children enrolled in the center also receive school uniforms, medical checkups, nutritious meals and most importantly, they learn that Jesus loves them.
Budhil George oversees the programs at the Bridge of Hope Center in Jobi's village. He is a graduate of Gospel for Asia's Biblical Seminary.
Karuka Meitei is a tutor at the center. She focuses on helping the children with their homework and enhancing their academic skills.
Dristi Singh, the center's social worker, also graduated from GFA's Biblical Seminary. She works with the children and their families to make sure all their needs are met.
More than 130 children file into the center each day at 4 p.m. The center is housed in a rented building right next to the main road that runs through the village.
The public schools in this area have rigorous academic requirements. If families have the means, the children receive tutoring to help them along. The children at the Bridge of Hope centers come from families who are too poor to afford this luxury.
The children also learn Bible stories and songs, which they often share with their parents at home. Very often, this is the way that some parents come to learn about Jesus and His love for them. The children also eat a nutritious meal before going home at 6 p.m.
By the end of the day, some of their academic and physical needs have been met and they have heard about Jesus, the only one who can bring them real hope.
