"Everybody Knows We're Christians."

Thirteen years ago, Jiame began the search of his life after a friend gave him a Gospel tract. Now he is willing to risk death to bring the answers he found to the people of his Muslim community in Bangladesh.

Intrigued by the Gospel tract's message, in 1993 Jiame and his father began carefully studying the Bible, comparing it with the Quran. Their search for the truth led them to receive salvation in Jesus. Risking everything, they professed Christ.

Opposition followed immediately. Asking why they were "persecuting the prophet Mohammed," the villagers beat and ostracized Jiame and his family.

"Everybody knows we're Christians," Jiame said. "We lost everything . . . now my family's position is very low."

In 2003, Jiame joined a GFA Bible college. During the time he studied there, the persecution was so great against his family that they had to move away from the village.

"If I were there at that time, they would have killed me," said Jiame. "But I escaped by the grace of God.

"So my heart was at that time very depressed and alone. But in the Bible college, I was encouraged by so many friends' and teachers' prayers."

Jiame graduated earlier this year with the deep desire to reach the very community that rejected him. He feels prepared both academically and spiritually by his three years of training.

"He is one of the fruit and will also bring much fruit for the glory of God in Bangladesh," one of Jiame's leaders said.

"Especially because he is from the Muslim background, he is always thinking about the Muslim people—90 percent are Muslim in Bangladesh. He is always thinking, dreaming all things for the Muslim people."
