God's Word for Spiritually Hungry Millions

Ramesh was encouraged when the young man hungrily read the Gospel tract and then began asking questions. Ramesh and his fellow Bible college students had come to this village for their weekend outreach and were distributing Scriptures, tracts and other Christian literature. "We answered all his questions," the missionary-in-training reports. "As a result he received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior."

Realizing the effectiveness and importance of Christian literature in sharing the Gospel and planting churches, Gospel for Asia has made literature production a priority. Our south Indian headquarters now has four presses that print God's Word as well as Gospel tracts and booklets. Through the help of generous donors, we produce 300,000 New Testaments every month. An astonishing 50 million total pieces of Gospel literature will be printed this year.

After coming off the press, Scriptures and other literature will be loaded into trucks, where they will make the journey down busy Indian highways. Whether they travel into jungles, up steep mountain roads or even across borders, they will soon arrive into the eager hands of missionaries like Ramesh.

Ramesh has seen the value of Gospel literature firsthand. In fact, he believes in its effectiveness so much that he was willing to quite literally "go the extra mile" in order to distribute more. Last Christmas, when all the other Bible college students left to enjoy their vacation with family members, Ramesh traveled instead to an unreached area of Rajasthan . . . to distribute Gospel literature and share the love of Jesus. "He sacrificed his vacation for the sake of the Gospel," comments one of his leaders. "No one told him to do so, but he himself made the decision to use his vacation in such a manner."
