SEND! Web Extra: 'I Wish for All of Them to Believe'
 |
| Gabriel goes to homes and marketplaces to personally interact with people and bring them the Gospel. |
Jameson Kharmuji*, 64, and his son Gabriel serve as Gospel for Asia native missionaries in Meghalaya, India. Jameson rejoices that his family shares his God-given passion to reach the lost of Meghalaya. One of our field correspondents had the opportunity to sit down with Gabriel and learn about his ministry.
Field Correspondent: Please tell me why you want to serve the Lord and bring the Gospel to the people of Meghalaya.
Gabriel: I want to serve the Lord with my life. I especially want people to believe in Jesus Christ. Since I joined with Gospel for Asia almost two years ago, I am doing ministry in four different villages.
FC: How far are these villages from where you live?
Gabriel: A half hour walk, about four kilometers.
FC: How do you go about your outreach?
Gabriel: Sometimes I visit homes and meet people. Sometimes I distribute tracts. In some places, I also hold meetings.
FC: Do you also pray for those who are sick?
Gabriel: Yes.
FC: For the past two years you have been working with GFA, and the Lord is using not only you, but also your father, to bring the Gospel to your people. What is your burden for the people in your area?
 |
| Often doing outreach together, Gabriel and his father, Jameson, regularly walk several kilometers through Meghalaya's lush, rolling fields to reach men, women and children with the Good News. |
Gabriel: I wish for all of them to believe in Jesus.
FC: Is there any kind of opposition or rejection when you go and tell people about Jesus?
Gabriel: Some people do make it difficult for us to minister.
FC: In such situations, how do you press on and continue to share the Gospel? Don't you feel discouraged sometimes?
Gabriel: Yes, I feel discouragement, but I believe in Jesus. When I get in God's Word, I am encouraged. And I pray for the people.
FC: Do you have any prayer requests so we can pray for you?
Gabriel: Yes, pray for me and for my ministry. Pray that I would grow everyday as a disciple of Jesus. Pray for a way to spread the Gospel to many areas.
