In South Asia, 50,000 female children are aborted every month. If they live to take their first breath, they grow up being the last to eat and the most likely to be illiterate, like the young girl in this video. Often they are sold into bonded labor or prostitution to provide for their families.

“Things would be different if you were a boy”.

Many girls and women in Asia grow up believing this phrase. If they were boys, they would have the love they so crave from their family. If they were boys, they could go to school, get an education and live out their dreams. If they were boys, they would be more likely to eat every day. If only they were boys, their lives would be much better.
