Invisible Evangelist

In a remote area of Nepal plagued with violence and poverty, Gospel for Asia leaders recently held the district's first GFA conference. Among the 75 attendees were two elderly women who just last year received salvation. They were eager for any chance to hear about the Lord and shared that to learn more, they regularly listened to GFA's radio program.

Radio broadcasts are playing a major part in GFA's ministry in Nepal, reaching many with Christ's love. The radio programs don't face opposition like missionaries often do. The programs are so effective that Narayan Sharma, GFA's leader in Nepal, is planning to increase them to five programs per week.

"I think we must broadcast as much as we can," Narayan said. "We don't know how long this door will be open. I think this is a wonderful miracle."

The programs are especially effective in this particular district, where intense fighting between insurgents and government forces makes it dangerous for missionaries. It is also one of the most unreached districts.

"This is almost like more evangelists moving there," Narayan said. "The district will not be called 'unreached' anymore."
