Text from this PhotoShow:
When Taburam Pegu first arrived in the Mising tribal area, it was a place God had planted within his heart and given him a burden for: a remote, unreached village near the mountains.
Taburam earnestly sought the Lord for the best way to reach the people. The Lord showed him he could help educate their children and through this build rapport with the community.
Parents started bringing their children to the Bridge of Hope center and were so happy with the school that they recommended it to others. They loved that the children were learning not only academics, but also skills such as manners and neatness.
Sharing Taburam's heart for these people, his wife taught the children basic hygiene—something greatly beneficial to all the families in this primitive area.
As the Bridge of Hope center grew, it became obvious to people in this community that it was changing their lives for the better. Taburam's kind gesture in starting the Bridge of Hope center showed them how deeply he cared, and many families were now interested in hearing the Gospel.
Touched by the message of hope, a number of the people received Christ-and in time, Taburam had eight families meeting with him to worship and hear from God's Word. Taburam greatly rejoiced, for through Bridge of Hope, a church had sprung up in a once unreached community.
Taburam's prayerful desire is that through this church, all the surrounding villages will soon hear the Gospel.
