Text from this PhotoShow:
A Gospel for Asia Bible college was started in Assam among the Mising tribe in 2003. About 60 students are to go into full-time ministry this year after graduation. Each student has a testimony that displays God's power in reaching this remote area with the Gospel. Here are two of them.
"A Gospel for Asia missionary came to my village and talked to me about Jesus Christ. He asked me if I knew I was a sinner. Something stirred in my heart when he spoke, something true. I received Jesus Christ as my Savior that day. "From then onward, I was persecuted by my parents. They threw me out of my house and did not allow me to return. I was forced to stop my studies. It was a horrible experience to face in my life, just for becoming a Christian."
"A pastor told me that I could learn more about Jesus by studying the Bible at this college. I have two more years left and I am 100 percent determined to do the Lord's ministry."
"I want to reach my community with the Gospel because there is no Christian witness in my village. Those in my village are animistic and worship animals. I want to bring them to Jesus, the real Creator of all these things. I also want to walk with the Lord and grow closer to Him. Soon after graduation I will go back to my village and plant a church there."
"I was playing football (soccer) when I noticed a piece of paper lying on the ground. I bent down to discover it was a Gospel tract. It said something about Jesus Christ, but I was not sure what it meant. As I continued reading, I realized that Jesus is the Living God. "I wasn't sure what to do. I found a man in my village who was a Christian and he had a pastor talk to me. The pastor told me the Good News, and I received Christ as my Savior."
"I went home with much peace and joy in my heart, and I thought my family would gladly welcome me and my new relationship with the Lord. But instead they kicked me out of the house. After wandering around trying to find a job, I found out that the GFA Mising Bible college just opened. I entered the college in 2003. I came simply to know the Bible and Jesus more."
"I have had many financial difficulties and felt all alone, but by faith the Lord has guided me and provided me with the things I need. My faith has increased since coming to college because I have had to rely on the Lord to provide all my needs. "I love Jesus and want to serve Him with all my heart. He has given me a peace in my life that I never felt before. I want to win my family to the Lord, and eventually, my village."
