Fourty-four graduates of a Gospel for Asia-supported Bible college were challenged to keep their vision clear, even when the pathways were filled with difficulties, trials and temptations.
The students, all of whom had just completed a three-year intense training program, graduated in November. The Gospel for Asia leader who spoke at the ceremony reminded them that the task the Lord had called them to was not an easy one. But it would be worth it to bring the love of Jesus to a world looking for peace in their hearts and in their society.
Another speaker thanked the graduates for following God into the ministry where they could give a helping hand to the poor and the downtrodden, who are mostly ignored by the rest of society.
The graduates were encouraged to spend even more time in fasting and prayer as they seek God’s anointing on their ministries.
These young men and women already understand sacrifice. Their three years in Bible college is a time of intense preparation. Their days begin at 5 a.m. when they rise for Bible reading and personal prayer. A full day of classes is followed by homework and household duties in the evening. Their days end around 11 p.m.
Each Friday evening is set apart for fasting and two hours of prayer. The first Friday of each month is set aside for all-night prayer, where they pray specifically for unreached people and other nations. It is during these times of prayer that the reality of the lost world becomes very close to their hearts.
Weekends are reserved for ministry work in nearby villages. Many of these students have already started a church before they even graduate!
These new graduates are now working in their respective ministry assignments throughout South Asia. Gospel for Asia leaders ask for prayer for the students’ spiritual growth and for their physical safety as they minister.
