As he looks around his village, Raju’s heart breaks for those suffering in spiritual bondage day after day. They earnestly seek forgiveness of sins, but in all the wrong places. In desperation they offer sacrifices to false deities, longing to appease them.
Raju knows what that’s like. And he wouldn’t want to go back to it—not for the world. A new Christian, Raju enjoys a freedom and peace he never knew before. He is no longer gripped with chains of spiritual darkness. He is so glad Gospel for Asia missionary Bholdus helped him find forgiveness of sins and eternal life in Jesus.
And Raju wants his neighbors to know how they, too, can have atonement for their sins and a relationship with a God who cherishes them. This is why the very man who led Raju to Christ is pouring his life into this young brother in the faith, discipling him and encouraging him in his walk with Jesus.
This is just the beginning. Because a caring missionary came to his village one day with the message of hope, Raju may soon be leading his neighbors to Christ. And they will, in turn, spread the Good News even farther. By God’s wonderful working, this story is replicated many times over in the lives of GFA’s 14,500 native missionaries sharing the Gospel in Asia.
