Pastor Joseph’s church in North India has a motivating vision to reach their village. A team of Bible college students regularly visits the community on weekends in efforts to develop relationships and evangelize the lost, but this spring church members took initiative to also play a part in reaching their neighbors.
When Pastor Joseph, 30, sensed the Lord’s leading to organize a large Gospel meeting, his church quickly took responsibility for publicity, spreading the word throughout their community. The Lord blessed them with a guest speaker from one of GFA’s offices.
On the evening of the meeting, more than 600 people showed up to hear about Christ. That special night, church members sensed God’s presence in a powerful way.
While the speaker was still sharing, a man who had been sick and unable to walk for a month was brought forward for prayer. Pastor Joseph and other believers began to pray for the man, and God demonstrated His power by healing him immediately. God’s praises resounded through the church that night, and the congregation’s joy overflowed when 200 of their neighbors came forward with decisions to receive and follow Christ! And the man who was healed that night? He and his family also received Jesus and became active in the church.
By God’s working, a spiritual awakening has begun in this village. Pray for the church to be strengthened—and that soon the whole village will know and follow Jesus.
