Nearly all of those who attend GFA’s Bible colleges go on to be missionaries to people who have never heard the Gospel.

Like the prodigal son, Gulab sought to find fulfillment in many things, but they all left him feeling empty inside. It was not until he met the One who could bring true life that he found his satisfaction in knowing and serving God.

Gulab grew up in a Christian family in Punjab, India. As a boy, he attended church with his mother, but the seeds of the Gospel never took root in his heart. He went through the motions of going to church but did not commit his life to Christ. Instead, Gulab became addicted to alcohol. In order to try to find purpose in his life, he tried his hand at a variety of occupations. He started his own business, but the business failed. Then he tried tailoring and later worked at a hotel.

However, Gulab was not really interested in any of these jobs, and none of them could fill the deep void in his life.

“Gulab was not really interested in any of these jobs, and none of them could fill the deep void in his life.”

But God had not given up on Gulab. One day while Gulab was attending a prayer meeting, the Lord touched his heart through His Word. In response, Gulab repented of his sins and turned to Jesus. Soon, he was freed from his slavery to alcohol and began to work in ministry at his church.

Because he knew God was calling him to full-time service, Gulab waited to see where God would lead him.

One day, Gospel for Asia missionary Jishnu Singh, who is a relative of Gulab, came to his home and told him about a GFA Bible college in Jammu and Kashmir. Sensing that this was a God-given opportunity, Gulab headed to the college to begin theological studies.

As he studies each day, Gulab learns more about what it means to follow Christ, as God shapes him to be a useful vessel for Him. Gulab desires that God would use him to work among the unreached people groups in Jammu and Kashmir.

Gulab asks for prayer that he would continue to draw closer to God through his studies and that God would prepare him for fruitful ministry.
