Gospel for Asia film teams travel throughout Asia showing a movie about the life of Jesus. |
A Gospel for Asia-supported film team in Jharkhand, India, was attacked by villagers who also stole their equipment. The incident occurred on March 30 when the film team was showing a movie about the life of Christ in a small village. A group of angry villagers interrupted the show and began beating the three missionaries and the local pastor who was working with them. Then they snatched up all the film equipment and ran away.
The equipment was returned to the film team the next day, but there was no apology for the assaults. Instead, the villagers have accused the film team of disturbing the peace in the village. The film team must now appear before local law enforcement officials to answer the claims.
The team members ask for prayer that the Lord will grant His protection over them and that they will be found innocent when they appear before the local court. They also ask for prayer for the people who assaulted them, that their hearts would be open to the Gospel. They are also praying they will be able to show the film in that village again.
