Sujin rededicated his life during a service much like this one. |
Most people go to Bible college to prepare for ministry and pour themselves into God’s Word, but there are exceptions. Sujin now admits he had no real desire to study God’s Word when he started Bible college—but that all changed!
Sujin grew up in a Christian family in South Asia. His parents loved Jesus and tried to pour their faith into their son, but he grew up not knowing Jesus personally. He even started viewing church attendance and worship as a burden. He began to drift away from his upbringing, and in his teenage years he turned his attention to things of the world. He kept bad company and indulged in sinful activities.
Sujin now admits he had no real desire to study God’s Word when he started Bible college—but that all changed!Despite his free-for-all lifestyle, Sujin just couldn’t seem to find peace in his life. Then one day, to please his parents, Sujin decided to attend a worship service. The sermon that day was on God’s unchanging love, and Sujin’s heart was touched. He found himself weeping and trusted in Jesus for salvation, asking for forgiveness. The Lord flooded Sujin’s heart with peace.
But somewhere along the way, Sujin again became entangled with bad company and turned back to his old ways rather than walking according to his newfound faith. Sujin’s parents were very concerned and tried to intervene to help him, but he continued to go down the same destructive path. They finally thought that if they sent him to Bible college, then surely his life would change.
During his first few months of Bible college, Sujin’s heart stayed far away from the Lord. But then, during a morning service, he heard the speaker preach from Luke 23. He shared on the life of Jesus, and on the importance of really knowing Him. As Sujin listened, the Lord moved in his heart. With tears, he cried out to the Lord, confessing his sin of turning away from Him.
In 2004, Sujin graduated from Bible college. He has been actively serving the Lord as a Gospel for Asia-supported native missionary since that time. For a while he was in film team ministry, sharing the Gospel in villages by showing a movie on the life of Jesus. Now he is assigned to a specific area, ministering to a diverse population.
Sujin has seen the Lord drawing hearts to embrace His redemptive love and now leads a small church fellowship of 10 people. He also holds cottage meetings each Tuesday and Thursday, both for the growth of believers and to reach out to new people. Because Sujin serves in an area where people come to work in factories—and many of his church members come from different areas—he encounters great potential for the Good News to spread even further and for many lives to be reached.
Please pray that Sujin will stay very close to Jesus and that through his faithfulness, the Gospel will spread to many.
