The meeting was a refreshing time of teaching and fellowship for these Bridge of Hope principals.

A burning passion for Jesus and for lost souls gleamed in the eyes of Narayan Sharma, the regional leader of Gospel for Asia’s ministry in Nepal, as he addressed the crowd.

Looking into the faces of 28 Bridge of Hope principals who had gathered for a special conference earlier this year, Narayan poured out his heart. He dearly loved these men and women he knew were laboring so diligently to bring Christ’s love to children in Nepal.

Many of the Bridge of Hope staff used their holidays to share the Gospel in their communities and encourage new believers.

As Narayan spoke of the core values of GFA—truths based on Scripture—he encouraged and challenged the principals to examine their hearts.

The first day was dedicated to teaching, with Narayan and three other speakers sharing. One speaker was a noted Christian psychologist and author. Another had considerable experience in the teaching field. A Gospel for Asia staff member also spoke.

The interesting, informative sessions applied to the everyday lives of these principals. They listened attentively and discussed among themselves the things they learned.

On the second day, the principals had the opportunity to ask questions specific to their ministries. They gleaned much information to help them work through various situations. They also learned how to plan for the coming year.

One of the most encouraging parts of the meeting was their opportunity to share stories of how God used their centers and staff over the past year. Many of the Bridge of Hope staff used their holidays to share the Gospel in their communities and encourage new believers. And even on school days, they often walked hours to meet with people.

The principals, speakers and GFA leaders rejoiced to realize that through such sacrificial labor, 223 people in Nepal had come to Christ over the past year. Three Bible study groups were born out of these centers.

The principals concluded their time together with prayer and hugs. It was hard to say goodbye because the fellowship was so precious to them. Linking hands in prayer, they pleaded for the Lord to use them to reach the lost world.

These principals ask for prayer that the Lord will continue to use this time in their lives, and that they will be increasingly effective in bringing His love to children and families in Nepal.
