Text from this PhotoShow:
October 15 was Global Hand Washing Day, and Gospel for Asia's Bridge of Hope students took an active part in teaching their neighbors how to properly wash up.
With soap and buckets of water, the children showed the proper way to wash hands to each person who walked by.
Even local police officers stopped to wash up.
A Women's Fellowship team from a local church also organized a hand washing event. They brought out a sink and mirror for passersby to use.
They helped wash the hands of 250 people and also distributed Gospel tracts to the people who now had clean hands. The president of the Indian Medical Association was present at the event and delivered a speech explaining the importance of hand washing and its benefits.
More than 5,000 people washed their hands that day, and a total of 50,000 came to understand the importance of why and how they should wash their hands through the leaflets that were passed out. According to a GFA field correspondent, Global Hand Washing Day presented people with an opportunity to follow the example of Jesus Christ, who once showed His love by washing the feet of His disciples.
