Helping the poorest of the poor, GFA-supported missionaries distributed gifts to needy families—and the local officials took notice. |
The Christmas season began early in South Asia with 48 families receiving gifts from Gospel for Asia’s Christmas Gift Catalog.
GFA-supported missionaries invited the neediest families to celebrate God’s provision for them at a Christmas-gift distribution program. They gave out ten sewing machines, 10 BioSand Water Filters, 10 LED lights and 18 farm implements.
A local government official who attended the event was impressed with the national missionaries’ love and care for families in the community.
“I thank you for conducting such development programs to uplift the poor people in society,” the government official said to the missionaries.
He then addressed the recipients of the gifts and urged them to put their gifts to good use.
“Make the most use of them to support your families and come up in society,” he said.
Christian families weren’t the only ones blessed by the event. The GFA workers knew there was a great need among some non-Christians families in the area, so they provided them with necessary gifts to help sustain their livelihoods. The missionaries pray those families will understands God’s love through this provision.
The gift-distribution program also built great rapport among the national missionaries and the local officials by uniting them in one cause: to help the poorest of the poor in their community.
