The little piglet running around in Sanuthi’s yard is considered to be her pet. But this pet has a purpose. It is her piglet because her father set it aside to provide for her future.
Sanuthi’s piglet was a gift to her family from a Gospel for Asia-supported missionary in their village. The gift was purchased from the GFA Christmas Gift Catalog. Sanuthi’s family was very poor, so the piglet was the chance her father thought he would never get. He took excellent care of the piglet and when it was full-grown, he sold it and bought two more. The profit provided a way to meet household expenses, and there was enough leftover to pay for Sanuthi’s school expenses for the year.
“I’m so grateful to GFA for giving me this piglet in my time of need,” he said.
