From an early age, Prabath watched his parents sacrifice to their gods and goddesses, hoping to invoke their blessing. His mother and father even taught him to follow in their footsteps. But following these practices offered no comfort to the young boy. Instead, emptiness gripped him. For Prabath, life had no direction, no purpose.
Time went by. Then, walking aimlessly in his community one day, Prabath encountered a man standing on a street corner, talking about Jesus. Somehow he felt drawn to stay and hear what the evangelist had to say. Understanding his desperate need for a Savior, Prabath welcomed Jesus into his heart and began to worship with other believers. Life had meaning to him now. “As I richly experienced God’s grace and love in life,” he relates, “I decided to share the joy of salvation with the people in my vicinity.” With a passion to serve his Maker, Prabath attended a GFA Bible college to become better equipped to preach Jesus among those who have never heard.
Pray his parents will also be drawn to Christ and share his burden for the lost. In India’s culture, young people choosing to follow Jesus must often suffer persecution from their non-Christian families; some are thrown out of their homes. Thank you for lifting to the Lord these courageous young people who do not count their lives dear to themselves, that they may take the Gospel to many.
