Text from this PhotoShow:
Students in Gospel for Asia Bridge of Hope centers are learning that they are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. They know that Jesus knit their bones together while they were still in their mother's womb. And at least once each year, they get a medical checkup to make sure that these little bodies God gave them are healthy.
There are 150 children from 70 different families at this Bridge of Hope Center. The children's mothers accompanied them for their checkups.
The doctor talked to all of the mothers and asked them lots of questions about their child's health.
Then it was time for the physical exam. The doctor checked the heart, nose, lungs, brain, eyes, chest, stomach, teeth and ears of each child that day.
Each time a problem was detected, the parents were taught how to treat their child's condition.
The parents also received the necessary medications needed to help their children.
Even after the examinations were complete, the doctor allowed parents time to ask questions about their family's health.
The doctor also spoke to the mothers and the children, emphasizing the importance of common hygiene practices in preventing disease.
The parents expressed their gratitude to the doctor and to the Bridge of Hope staff for helping them keep their children healthy.
