GFA-supported missionaries, Bible college students and staff in Rajasthan, India, love their country so much that they sacrificed their Independence Day holiday in August to clean up their communities.
One area they tackled was a canal close to a bus station. They cleared out the rotten, filthy garbage.
The project was a true labor of love because cleaning out these disgusting areas is a job that is normally only done by a Dalit ("Untouchable").
It was also physically demanding work. They loaded the trash and debris into this wheelbarrow ...
... and this big cart.
They also found some unexpected things—like this pig—as they cleaned!
The team worked for several hours, and when they finished, the bus station employees showed their appreciation by serving them tea and snacks.
In another part of Rajasthan, 25 GFA-supported pastors worked several hours cleaning up trash and debris in areas around bus stands.
In this same community, a team of 25 women, including Women's Fellowship members, staff wives and Bible college students, cleared trash from the roadsides.
They even cleaned around the canals, too. Thanks to all this hard work several communities in Rajasthan are now cleaner, more pleasant places to live!
