Cycle rickshaws are very common transportation in Asia.

For a Christian woman named Aditi, life changed when Gospel for Asia provided a very special Christmas present—to her grandson.

Elderly and living in poverty, Aditi had to depend on Hardev to provide for her. She lived in a small house nearby his, and he worked hard, but earned little. They were both living in poverty.

Aditi learned about Jesus through the ministry of Pastor Parag, a GFA-supported missionary. And Parag knew about Aditi’s financial situation and the way that Hardev tried to take care of her even though he made very little money. So at Christmas time, Parag chose them to be recipients of a gift from GFA’s Christmas Gift Catalog.

This present was a brand new bicycle rickshaw! Although the gift was meant to benefit Aditi, her grandson is the one who actually pedals the rickshaw, offering transportation to people in their village. With rickshaw rides in high demand, it wasn’t long before he was working full time. His income has more than tripled since he received the rickshaw.

With a heart full of gratitude, she expressed her thanks to the Lord,” GFA’s correspondent wrote. “This rickshaw became a great blessing to them.”

Today Aditi and Hardev live much more comfortably with all their needs met. They know it was the Lord—and Christians from around the world—who helped provide for their needs.

I am very happy now,” Aditi said, “and I pray daily for our church and this ministry.”
