Jesus Wells provide fresh, clean water for people all across India. Each well is set with a plaque that stands as a witness to each person who comes to draw water.

Gospel for Asia native missionary Chandra Pavi is weathering yet another spiritual storm in Jharkhand, India. A group of anti-Christian extremists recently destroyed the plaque on the village’s Jesus Well and displayed their militant flag in its place.
Chandra and the believers had gone to a nearby village for a church convention, so the radicals took advantage of the opportunity to vandalize the church’s property. Although the group completely devastated the plaque, the well was left intact.
This is the third time during the past few months that the group has openly opposed Chandra and the Christians who attend the church where he serves as pastor. The first two threats targeted the construction of a new church building that the congregation desperately needs.
Chandra and his congregation began work on the church’s foundation in late February. Just days later, the anti-Christian mob approached them and threatened them with “dire consequences” if they built a church there. Chandra delayed work for two days in order to let things cool down. But the group came back again and destroyed everything that had been completed on the building.
Chandra and the believers continue to lift this situation to the Lord as they try to reach a peaceable resolution with the extremists. They request prayer that they will be a light to those who are opposing them. Also, they ask for prayer that the Lord will open doors for them to continue the construction of their church building.
