Gospel for Asia’s mobile teams face dangers as diverse as malaria and persecution.

But strengthened by the prayers and support of caring GFA friends around the world, these teams courageously press forward even in the face of such obstacles.

Even the death of his team leader, Paul, from malaria last year was not enough to discourage Eldrin, who also contracted the disease himself.

Just as Eldrin was on the verge of death, the Lord miraculously healed him, and today he continues to serve actively on the film team, a testimony to God’s sustaining provision. A number of other film team workers also contracted the disease, but the Lord protected these laborers as well.

The film teams also encounter persecution from those dedicated to opposing the Gospel. In a recent incident, railway police stopped some team members, grabbed their belongings and kept them in a room for interrogation. It was a painful, humiliating experience for these brothers, as others were watching and talking about them.

“But we were not disappointed,” one team member shares, “because we remembered the Word of God: when people are insulting you, be happy, because your reward in heaven is great.”

It is encouraging to hear of how the Gospel is courageously advancing through GFA’s film teams! Please keep these teams in your prayers.
