Santhosh suffered under the terrible weight of depression. He tried many ways to soothe his pain, but all ended in failure. Even the gods his family worshipped in their central Indian village were of no help.
Disillusioned, Santhosh tried to drown his terrible emotions by taking drugs. But he only became addicted to them and soon lost all hope for his future.
During this valley in Santhosh’s life, God sent GFA native missionary Brenthius to reach out to him. Hearing the Good News of hope, the troubled man felt a desire to obey God’s Word—and found joy like he had never known. He trusted in Christ as his Savior and dedicated his life to serve Him.
Please pray that Santhosh will daily find comfort in God’s Word and continue to “…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18, NKJV). And pray that God will raise up supporters to send even more native missionaries like Brenthius to reach the lost and perishing people like Santhosh.
