Lakshmi listened to the music coming from her neighbor’s house. Curious, she ran next door to see what was happening. What she found would change the rest of her life.
Lakshmi had tried to commit suicide several times. She was shamed because after a few years of marriage, she still had no children. Severe chest pains that doctors couldn’t cure added to her despair. But when she visited her neighbor’s house and heard a GFA missionary share the Gospel, for the first time in her life Lakshmi heard of a God who loved her and offered salvation.
Lakshmi shared her problems with the missionary and began attending his church regularly. Soon, trusting in Jesus, she was completely healed from her chest pains. But soon after her healing, her husband died suddenly, leaving her a widow with no children.
Praise God, even in this test of faith, Lakshmi clung to the Lord and His promises. She has decided to live for Christ and is an active witness for Him.
