Life offers no hope to Asia's "Untouchables"—until they hear about Christ.
Anand turned to drinking when he couldn't bear his life anymore. He was an ardent worshipper of his goddess, but for 10 long years, he was unable to find healing for the paralysis that plagued him. Costly medicines failed. His goddess didn't hear him. He was filled with discouragement—his problems only added to this lifelong stigma of "untouchability," associated with being a Dalit.

When Chapa came to Anand's home with a message about Jesus, Anand welcomed him and listened carefully. Chapa had once worshipped gods and goddesses himself, but found the truth when he heard about Jesus Christ.

Where he had only felt hopelessness, Anand felt joy and peace creep into his heart. He asked Chapa to visit him again. As Chapa prayed for Anand on these visits, the Lord began healing him from the paralysis.

Instead of a paralyzed, alcoholic outcast, Anand grew into a joyful follower of Christ, beloved by the Lord. Chapa asks for prayer that Anand will grow closer to the Lord, and that he will be completely healed. Chapa also asks for continued prayer that and he will be able to share the Gospel with many more like Anand.
