Pastor Paul turned to look at the young woman who had been brought in for prayer. She was obviously very sick for the family to be bringing her to the prayer meeting. They told Pastor Paul she was suffering from cancer. The GFA-supported pastor and his congregation began to pray for her.
It was like Paul’s own story. Though he grew up in a Christian home, he hadn’t been interested in following Christ himself until he suddenly became sick and was confined to his bed. During his illness, he began to read and meditate on the Scriptures. He was taken to several doctors for treatment and tried all possible things for his health, but it was in the Bible that he found true healing. When Paul’s health was restored, he knew it was a gift from God. He immediately repented of his disobedience and dedicated his life to the Lord.
Now Paul prayed for the young woman who could, like himself, be brought to salvation through a healing touch from Jesus. Filled with a burden for the young woman, Paul and his congregation fervently prayed for the Lord to take away her cancer.
In a wonderful answer to prayer, the whole church witnessed the girl’s healing! Sure enough, when she was taken to the hospital the next day, there were no signs of cancer. She and her family gave their hearts to Christ and, praising God, started attending the local church.
