Shankar, blind and an alcoholic, could be seen wandering around his Uttar Pradesh (India) village, assisted by some obligated friend or relative. He had a sinful lifestyle and harbored many addictions. The loss of his eyesight more than two years before made him dependent on others.
One day GFA Pastor Lal visited Shankar on his outreach. With nothing else to do, Shankar listened as Pastor Lal shared the Gospel. Before leaving, the kind pastor asked him to tune in to a radio program called Athmeeya Yathra. Shankar did this.
Listening each day to the radio program, Shankar’s interest in Pastor Lal’s message grew. As he received more visits from the pastor, he began to believe in Jesus as the only way to salvation.
One Sunday, Pastor Lal and another believer came together to pray for Shankar. They prayed in faith that the Lord would restore his sight. In an amazing answer to prayer, Shankar regained his vision.
The renewed man and his family gladly gave their lives to Christ. They now attend the church Pastor Lal shepherds, praising the God who restored Shankar’s sight.
