Text from this PhotoShow:
A Gospel for Asia leader recently heard some fantastic stories of faith coming from one region of South Asia. This area is 45 minutes away from the nearest road and populated by tribal people. He decided to visit the area, and arrived to find two GFA-supported pastors hard at working serving the people.
"The spiritual climate in this area may be unfavorable," he said, "but this has not dampened the spirit of our leaders, pastors and workers, as evidenced by the abundant spiritual fruit here."
"I met the first person who came to Christ in this area—a lady who had a wound that was infected for over a year. When Pastor Usman prayed, she was healed, and 58 people's hearts opened to Jesus."
"As the Good News spread, this man, Dilraaj, opposed Pastor Usman. But when he got a leg injury and it became terribly infected, Usman heard and came to see him."
"Usman and another missionary took Dilraaj on a two-hour journey through remote village roads to take him to a hospital for treatment. Then Usman raised the money for Dilraaj's treatment."
This surgery scar is the reminder of Pastor Usman's sacrifice for Dilraaj. "Seeing the pastor's sacrifice led Dilraaj and his whole family to believe in Jesus."
"The next pastor I met, Gulwant, has a reputation of praying for the toughest of cases."
"This man used to roam his neighborhood at night and throw stones at people. His relatives tried witchcraft and black magic to cure him. But God delivered him instantly when the pastor prayed for him."
"The people who have been healed and delivered through prayer come to church and are discipled and are themselves responsible for bringing even more people to church for prayer."
"I was curious to know what the secret of these powerful ministries was. Usman's answer was that it is all because of God's grace. That really challenged me."
And by God's grace, there are now two congregations of people worshiping their Savior in this remote place.
