Landlords Mobilize Against Missionary

December 28, 2009

The people who oppose Sanjat's work have organized the local landlords against him. Sanjat and his family are staying in the local church building because no one will rent them a place to live.

Gospel for Asia–supported missionary Sanjat Pilka is homeless because he is a Christian.

Sanjat, his wife and two children serve the Lord in a place where the majority of the people follow the Sikh faith. They have lived in this area for six years, but those who oppose his work are turning up the pressure.

The latest tactic involves denying him a place to live in the community. No one will rent him a home. This is a common fear and intimidation tactic used against GFA–supported missionaries.

Right now Sanjat and his family are living in the church building. The church building, which is very small, also lacks boundary walls, which are the most common means of providing security for your home in the place where he lives. Additionally, the church building lacks things, such as a kitchen, making it difficult to care for a family.

He asks for prayer that hearts will soften and that he and his family will be able to find a home to rent soon. He also asks for prayer that those who are opposing his ministry will come to understand the love of Christ.
