Traveling by foot to another city only to make about a dollar a day had taken its toll on Abin. And worse, he had to give half of his earnings away to rent the old rickshaw he used for his livelihood. There was no way to afford basic necessities, let alone pay for his young son’s schooling. As the financial stress mounted on Abin and his family, he felt he was at the end of his rope.
With everything crashing down around him, Abin’s life was far from pleasant, even though that’s what his name meant. He desperately needed help—something to lift his spirits and provide for his family—but he saw no relief in sight.
Abin and his family faithfully put their trust in God and continued regularly attending church even in the darkest of times. And Gospel for Asia-supported pastor Vimal Kailash noticed their plight. Vimal and the church worked together to give Abin his very own, brand-new rickshaw.
Joy filled Abin’s heart as he hopped onto the new rickshaw. Now, with his very own rickshaw, he is able to make enough money to take care of his family.
Like his name suggests, Abin’s life is now truly pleasant for him and his family. They praise God for seeing their great need and meeting it through Vimal and the church.
“It is my pastor and church that God used to pull me and my family out of poverty,” Abin cheerfully exclaimed.
