UPDATE: 11/02/2011

Manshi Tamang (far left in photo above) was attacked while walking home with his family after church Sunday.

Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Manshi Tamang is still in critical condition after being attacked October 16 while walking home from church. Manshi still cannot speak because of a throat injury. The attackers had been threatening Manshi for some time, telling him to stop sharing the Good News or they would attack him.

Manshi has been a missionary for 12 years and has served in this particular area for five years. Please continue to pray for his healing. His family needs prayer for comfort and strength.

Update: from 10/21/2011

Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Manshi Tamang was attacked by anti-Christian extremists while he and his family were walking home from church on Sunday. The attackers severely beat Manshi and then fled.

Our missionary is now in the hospital in critical condition. He is unable to speak.

Please pray for Manshi to recover and for God to comfort and protect his wife and children. Pray also for the people in the church where Manshi serves as pastor, that they will not be afraid.

We also want to pray for the men who attacked Manshi. It is our desire that they will receive the love of Jesus in their life.
