Church-building construction in two villages in South Asia is being threatened since a local newspaper published an article a few weeks ago against Gospel for Asia’s ministry in that region. Some local anti-Christians have joined the fray, speaking out against the GFA-supported missionaries and trying to stop the construction work.
This opposition comes on the heels of an exciting time for the Christian fellowships in these two villages. Through the prayers and faithful ministry of GFA-supported missionaries, many people have personally experienced and embraced the love of Christ.
The completion of the two church buildings will mean both congregations can have a permanent structure of their own as they gather to worship their Savior.
But now, the recent newspaper article has triggered local anti-Christian sentiment against the churches, and both church buildings are in possible danger of being delayed or hindered in their completion.
GFA’s local correspondent requests prayer for the missionaries and the believers:
- Pray they will stand firm in the Lord even in the midst of opposition.
- Pray for God’s intervention for a favorable solution and that the church construction can be completed.
