Simon is free from alcoholism, thanks to God’s power in his life. |
Simon Jahre’s neighbors always knew when he came home from the coal mines. The noise coming from his house gave it away—he was always drunk.
For 17 years, he had been under the addiction of alcohol. Most of the people in his village knew how he would throw pots in the kitchen, beat his family and verbally abuse those who lived near him.
So when, one night, Simon came home calmly to spend time with his family, it was obvious something had changed.
That morning, Simon had met Gospel for Asia missionary Balvir Raj. For the first time, Simon listened to the message of a God who loved him. Balvir showed Simon how, instead of being the village drunk, he could be a temple for the Lord. Simon’s heart was deeply touched, and he received salvation right away.
Meeting the Lord immediately transformed Simon’s life. He went home that night free from his addiction and eager to share with his family the hope he had found.
Simon and his entire family now attend Balvir’s church and desire to follow the Lord wholeheartedly. Pray for their walks with the Lord, and that Balvir’s ministry will continue to bear fruit.
