Many in Asia are experiencing God’s healing touch through the prayers of GFA missionaries.

Often in our lives, it can be hardest to share the message of Christ’s salvation with those we are the very closest to. Gospel for Asia missionary Narendar has witnessed to many people in his native area of Maharashtra, India—and has even started a church. But Narendar recently faced the challenge of sharing Christ with his own sister.

Pavitha, 40, was admitted to the hospital for swelling in her stomach. Tests revealed a malignant tumor in her uterus. The doctors recommended immediate surgery. Pavitha’s condition was serious, and doctors offered no guarantees that the surgery would be successful.

When Narendar reached the hospital and heard the news, he was filled with faith in Jesus concerning the outcome and encouraged her to go through with the operation. Meanwhile, he spent time in fasting and prayer for his sister.

Things looked bleak immediately after the operation. Pavitha was unconscious for three days, and the swelling in her stomach showed no signs of going down. Her family was discouraged and worried.

To her family’s surprise, she experienced complete healing. Even the doctors were amazed at her miraculous recovery.

Narendar knew this was the perfect opportunity to point his sister to Jesus. Sharing with her the hope in Christ that he had, Narendar urged Pavitha to give Him her heart. He was delighted when she joyfully chose to receive Christ, thanking Him for His mercy in healing her.

Praise God for showing Narendar how to reach out to one of those dearest to him with the Good News of Christ. Please pray that Pavitha’s faith will continue to strengthen, so she will be a light to the people in her community. And pray for the Lord’s continued blessings on Pastor Narendar’s ministry in Maharashtra.
