Missionaries like Harish frequently face persecution for their ministry.

Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Harish is asking for prayer after an incident in December.

Pastor Harish has worked in his village for six years and has a church with 25 believers. One of these, a woman named Swathi, was sick with a fever for several days. Pastor Harish and his wife visited Swathi’s family to pray for her healing.

On their way back home, a local official along with four drunk men came up to Pastor Harish. They started arguing with the pastor, accusing him of enticing people to convert to his religion. The situation was quickly getting worse when a neighbor came outside to see what was going on.

Why are you giving trouble to the pastor?” the neighbor asked.

When the official replied with accusations against Pastor Harish, the neighbor joined in threatening him as well.

God protected Pastor Harish from being beaten at that time, but the threats left him shaken. He continues to work in that area but earnestly asks for prayers. He says that every day, persecution and opposition take place in his district, and anti-Christians are spreading lies and accusations against the believers. The situation in his district seems to be growing steadily more dangerous.

Pastor Harish asks for prayer for safety and that God will change the opponents’ hearts to see His love for them.
