The Man of Mercy film can be a powerful witnessing tool to people in South Asia.

Like these men, Randhir, Abhra and Vimal have the responsibility of transporting and setting up film equipment.

A showing of the Man of Mercy film turned into a malicious attack against one group of missionaries. Randhir Jhadav, Abhra Chauhan and Vimal Khan—members of a Gospel for Asia film team—were working with GFA-supported missionary Rochan Mistry to screen the film in a village where only two Christian families lived. In the middle of the screening, a group of villagers disrupted the film. They beat both the film team and Pastor Rochan’s brother. They also stole all the film equipment before running away.

The next day, the villagers returned the equipment. However, they falsely accused Pastor Rochan and the film team of inciting trouble in the village. The village held a meeting to review these accusations.

Thankfully, God answered prayers, and the village leaders dismissed the accusations. The team moved to another area in the same district to show the film about Jesus. In spite of the violence they had suffered, they continued conducting film ministry and, so far, have faced no further problems.

Pastor Rochan and the film team ask for prayer that God will continue to work in the village where they faced opposition. Prayer against persecution of missionaries and for God’s strength in the midst of persecution is also needed.
