Women like these are sharing Christ’s love daily all across the Indian Subcontinent.

Judging from outward appearance, Savira’s life seemed fine. However, one thing after another had taken her down a road of despair.

Her husband had a good job, and they were prosperous. They lived near the border of Punjab in Himachal Pradesh, India. Her needs were all met, but Savira had no peace—neither did her husband, Herat. He had turned to alcohol, and in his drunken state, used to beat Savira daily.

They were on the brink of divorce, and then their son injured his leg so badly that medical doctors said it was beyond repair. Savira concluded that life was not worth living anymore and planned suicide.

But by the grace of God, two women missionaries, Esther and Joy, visited Savira and told her about Jesus’ love and the sacrifice He made on the cross. Savira asked Esther and Joy to pray to Jesus for her family, explaining her problems to them. They prayed, and God answered their prayers miraculously. Savira’s husband slowly changed and stopped beating her. Her son’s leg slowly improved and healed.

Savira knew Jesus was the one who had replaced her despair with hope. She placed her faith in Him, receiving Him as her Savior. Today, there is joy in her heart.

Savira knew Jesus was the One who had replaced her despair with hope.

Please pray for Savira’s husband. Though he has changed in many ways, he has not chosen to receive Christ yet. He does not allow Savira to go and worship at the local GFA-affiliated church. Pray also that Savira’s testimony will point many to salvation in Jesus.
