Praying With Faith

A cancerous tumor was growing in Rehman Dasgupta's stomach. The people of his village assumed he had angered their god or must have done some great sin in his previous incarnation for this sickness to befall him.
Society—and even his own family—rejected him.
Rehman's life became full of darkness and despair. There was no hope of recovering from the cancer, and he continued to suffer.
Even Gospel for Asia-supported pastor Akmal Dutta, who was serving in Rehman's village, saw the severity of the case and wondered if he should pray for Rehman's healing.
But he prayed anyway in faith.
A few days after meeting Rehman at an evangelism program, Pastor Akmal brought a team with him to fast and pray for the gravely ill man. Every morning and evening, they came before the Lord and asked Him to heal Rehman.
Slowly, they noticed that Rehman was beginning to get better and the wounds on his body were healing. Amazed by the miracle, Rehman and his family chose to give their lives to the Lord.
The hearts of many other villagers were also softened toward Christianity after seeing this healing, but afraid of what society and the religious leader of the village might do, they have kept their interest a secret.

Pastor Akmal requests prayer for Rehman and his family, that they would be faithful to the Lord and grow in their relationship with Him. He also asks for prayer concerning others in the village who have yet to openly acknowledge the power of the true God, that they would give up their old beliefs and have courage to live for Him.
