GFA-supported missionaries in Asia demonstrate the love of Jesus by distributing food and tracts to those in need.

Making their way toward the railway station, past the dusty bus stands and through lively intersections crammed with honking cars, a group of people armed with Bibles, Gospel tracts and food were on their way to reach out to the people in one of South Asia's bustling cities in the love of Jesus.

The group consisted of several Bible college students and local church members who had a desire to share Jesus. They divided into four groups; distributing food packets and tracts to beggars and needy individuals throughout the area. Their goal was to demonstrate to the people the love of Jesus and to invite them to know Him personally.

As the groups went in different directions, one group went to a university where they found a cricket game in progress. Twelve players with their bats in hand and dressed in protective gear were engaged vigorously in the sport. The team members sang a few songs and shared the Gospel. They were pleased to find the students receptive to the Gospel and were able to hand out 150 pieces of Gospel literature, along with several copies of the New Testament. One student in particular, Tanveer Gupta, was especially open to hearing about Jesus.

In another part of the city, one group headed toward the railroad station.

There, they began distributing the food packets to beggars and others with physical disabilities who made their shelters around this area. As they continued passing out the material, they met Ohas, a 42-year-old beggar.

"Why do you do this?" he asked them. "Why do you want to give food to me?"

"Jesus did the same, and we are His followers," they responded, and they shared the Gospel with him.

They also met Hardik Patel, a mentally ill man who lived near the station. Hardik had completed his college degree but was forced to leave his home due to the illness. He was overjoyed that someone would speak with him because no one had talked to him for nearly a month. The team gave Hardik a Gospel tract and shared the hope of Jesus.

With the day drawing to a close and having completed a fruitful trip, the team felt blessed to be used by the Lord. Altogether, the students and staff distributed around 450 Gospel tracts and six New Testaments. Please pray that God will continue to work through the believers in South Asia and that many will come to know Jesus as their Savior.

  • Pray that Tanveer Gupta will receive Jesus as his Savior and that God will open his heart as he reads the New Testament.

  • Pray for Hardik Patel's complete healing and salvation.

  • Pray for Ohas that he would read the Gospel tract and receive Jesus.

  • Pray for the salvation of all who heard the Gospel and received tracts.

  • Pray for all the staff and students who were involved in this ministry, that the Lord would continue to bless and use them for His kingdom.
