Jaison’s film team was holding a peaceful movie showing on the life of Jesus, similar to this one, until a drunk man interrupted.

Presenting film shows involves a lot of valuable equipment, so it is a trial for film-team missionaries when people damage the equipment.

Disruptions commonly occur when missionaries attempt to show movies about Jesus. That’s why Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Jaison Patel and his film team were not surprised when someone tried to disrupt the show.

Since the local GFA-supported pastor received permission from the village leader to show the movie, Jaison and the film-team missionaries proceeded with their plan. They started the movie at approximately nine o’clock in the evening at a villager’s house.

About a half an hour later, an interruption shattered the peaceful gathering. A drunk man with a knife arrived. He damaged the screen and broke some light bulbs with his knife, shouting and threatening the film team. He said they should not show such films in the village.

The village leader advised Jaison and the other missionaries to stop showing the movie, and they listened to his advice. Sadly, their plan to share the love of Jesus was cut short that night.

Some of the villagers escorted the drunk man home, and the missionaries took their projector and spent the night at the pastor’s house. By God’s grace, they suffered no harm that night, and they continued on to show the movie in other villages.

Jaison requests prayers for his team. Please ask God to help them remain faithful and to protect them.
