Walking through the dusty streets of a village in Maharashtra, India, Prabal Haroon boldly knocks on the door of a stranger to hand out a Gospel tract. The Gospel for Asia native missionary’s deepest desire is to see the lost people of India enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That is why, when a desperate family brought their sick daughter to him for prayer, he did not think twice before crying out to the Lord to heal her.
Prabal grew up in a non-Christian home and knows the pain of living trapped in sin. His father committed suicide, leaving Prabal with the task of caring for his family. Prabal married, but his first child was born dead, and his wife was about to die. As his life seemed to shatter before him, a Christian woman shared the Gospel with Prabal and his wife. They received Christ, and He dramatically changed them from the inside out. Prabal then began praying about God’s will for his life, and the Lord clearly called him to missionary service.
The family that came to Prabal for help had already taken their deathly ill daughter, Satya, to several hospitals and even to a witch doctor. No matter what they tried, no one could cure her. Finally, a Christian told them to take the girl to Prabal.
All through the night, Prabal and his wife laid their hands on Satya and prayed to the Lord for healing. As they interceded for Satya, two demons came out of her body. Immediately, her illness disappeared. She knew that it was demons who had made her sick, and it was Jesus who healed her. She acknowledged Him as the Son of God and received Him as her Savior.
Prabal spends his days handing out Bibles, tracts and other Gospel literature and telling anyone he meets about the risen Lord. God has blessed his efforts, and Prabal has started a church and two mission stations. He also leads several fellowship groups in the homes of the new believers.
Prabal is one of more than 16,500 native missionaries supported by GFA. The Lord is using them to touch the hearts of thousands of people, bringing them to Himself.
