Sowing Seeds of God's Word

April 2, 2006

Serving as a Gospel for Asia native missionary in a slum area of Chhattisgarh, India, Narasing has the opportunity to sow God's Word into the hearts of some of society's most mistreated and downtrodden people—India's outcast Dalits.

Even more exciting, many of those Narasing is reaching are migrants who have moved to the city temporarily to find work. They generally return to their home villages, providing opportunity for the Gospel to spread through them into even more places.

Through Narasing's outreach, a church of about 65 people has sprung up. He also leads a Sunday school for children. Narasing has started five additional small fellowships for worship and Bible study, and is actively reaching out to a number of surrounding areas. Narasing first began his ministry in this slum by distributing Gospel tracts and sharing Christ with its people on a personal level. Near the beginning of his ministry, he prayed for a woman possessed by evil spirits—and the Lord answered and brought total deliverance! With a heart of gratitude, the woman eagerly responded with heartfelt trust in Christ.

Through this incident, many others became open to the Gospel, and today the number of believers in this slum area is growing. These Dalits are viewed as worthless by the rest of society, and they hear with gladness that Jesus cherishes them and gave His life for them.
