Gulam, a street vendor like this man, heard the Gospel from one of his customers.

Gulam and Aditi, once possessed by a demon, now worship the Lord like this couple.

It was the end of rainy season, so it was warm and sticky outside. Kumari decided to go visit the local street vendor for a cool treat of kulfi, similar to ice cream.

While she enjoyed her kulfi, Kumari started talking with Gulam, the vendor. She took the chance and started to share the Gospel with him, and he quickly became very interested.

Can Jesus heal my wife, Aditi?” Gulam asked first thing.

Without even knowing what her ailment was, Kumari assured Gulam that Jesus was powerful enough to heal Aditi. Gulam went on to explain their story.

Five years before, Aditi had just started acting strangely. Her behavior changed and she became extremely difficult. Gulam was baffled as he took her to doctors and then sorcerers when people advised him that someone had probably performed witchcraft against Aditi.

I am in distress,” Gulam told Kumari. “I don’t know what to do now.” After spending much money seeking Aditi’s healing, Gulam had no more options—except the message Kumari was sharing with him.

Kumari invited Gulam to attend the church that Sunday where her brother, a Gospel for Asia-supported missionary, served as pastor.

Gulam excitedly attended with his wife. When they arrived at church, Pastor Surya immediately recognized Aditi’s behavior. She was possessed by a demon. He prayed for her right then, and she visibly changed. Aditi said she felt something leaving her body.

The next day, Pastor Surya visited the couple’s home and told them more about Jesus. As she listened, Aditi again felt as if a power was leaving her body. She felt free again.

Gulam and Aditi chose to trust in Jesus’ loving power in their life and to follow Him.

Pastor Surya requests prayer that they will grow in their new faith—and that the ice cream man will now be able to share his miraculous story with his customers.
