Anti-Christians are doing their best to discourage Pastor Chander, shown here with his family.

Each Sunday, 72 people worship the Lord with Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Chander Veer, who was instrumental in leading them to Christ. But now, extremists in their village are trying to get Pastor Chander to stop caring for his congregation—and to give up his ministry altogether.

Pastor Chander has worked in this area of South Asia for eight years, persevering although he met opposition and hardened hearts. At one point, villagers banded together denying him a place to rent, so he was forced to live with his family in their church building.

With solid faith that God would work through his ministry, Chander wouldn’t give up when things looked impossible. He continued handing out tracts, talking with people and praying for them. Soon, many villagers were coming to know the Lord.

Those opposing Pastor Chander occasionally threatened him, trying to get him to stop his ministry. But in the last month, they have increased their hostility and began “opposing him vehemently” according to a correspondent.

Pastor Chander isn’t ready to give up. His determination is a trait he has shown since he was a young man, relentlessly searching to know the true God. When he met a missionary, Chander finally found answers to his questions. He also received healing from a life-long infirmity. Chander’s faith grew strong, and he decided to attend a Bible college and go on to serve the Lord after he graduated.

Knowing without doubt that the Lord is able to do the impossible, Pastor Chander is asking for prayer that those opposing his ministry will come to know Jesus’ love firsthand.
