Many new believers in Asia radiate the love of Jesus, serving as a powerful witness in their village. |
In a village in Sikkim, India, there was not one Christian.
That is, until a widow came to know Jesus!
GFA missionary Rajen and his ministry team had a burden for this village to hear the Gospel, so they decided to do something about it. They held an outreach program where they shared the love of Jesus through a compelling message, the young people performed special music and the entire team distributed New Testaments and Gospel tracts. Then they prayed for the sick.
Putting the program together presented logistical challenges such as power supply and location, because some of the villagers opposed the program. But by God’s grace, the team overcame the obstacles and was able to successfully hold the event.
In a village in Sikkim, India, there was not one Christian. And a crowd of 150 people came out to watch. One of these was Prabavathi, a middle-aged widow. Touched by the program, Prabavathi made the choice to receive Christ as Lord and Savior.
Others also responded to the Gospel, but out of fear of their family and others in the village did not accept Christ just yet. Many who were sick approached the missionaries afterwards and said that if they were healed, they would receive Jesus and start coming to church.
Pray that God will show Himself strong and mighty on this village’s behalf, bringing both physical and spiritual healing. And pray for Prabavathi, the village’s first Christian, to grow strong in her faith and proclaim Jesus’ love to those around her.
