An evil spirit attacked her,” reported a Gospel for Asia correspondent.

Suvali, a widow, was alone at her home when the attack occurred. The older woman lived with the rest of her family in a small, rural village in Punjab state, India.

“Following this attack,” wrote the reporter, “her health began to deteriorate. She fell seriously ill.”

Suvali’s relatives took her to visit several hospitals. But no health care provider was able to find a reason for the illness, nor give her medication to relieve the symptoms.

Along with family members, Suvali also went to see many sorcerers. Although she followed the directions given by these men—saying ritual prayers, bringing offerings and making sacrifices—her health did not improve.

As her pain and suffering continued, Suvali and her family decided to attend a local prayer meeting.

“She felt a great relief and comfort attending the worship,” the field correspondent said. Touched by the presence of God in the service, Suvali approached the GFA pastor leading the meeting and invited him to her home. Later, along with several other believers, Pastor Ruhan came to the house and prayed for her healing. As he prayed, Suvali suddenly fell to the ground.

“Immediately she felt the evil spirit fleeing away from her body,” wrote the correspondent. “From that very moment, sickness left her body and she stood up with renewed strength.”

Seeing this miracle, Suvali’s relatives were amazed. Even her Hindu neighbors praised God for His deliverance in Suvali’s life.

Later, after more discussions and prayers with Pastor Ruhan, Suvali and her family received Jesus as their personal Savior.

Now the whole family regularly attends the worship services lead by Pastor Ruhan.

“Please pray for Suvali and her family to grow in the love and grace of our Lord, and for Pastor Ruhan and his family to be used mightily by God for the expansion of His kingdom,” our correspondent requests.
