“Today you are beating me,” the pastor told Senthil, “but a day will come when you will preach the Bible.”
His words would echo in Senthil’s ears. Little did he know they would one day come true. Raised an atheist, Senthil severely beat pastors and warned them not to share about Jesus. But this pastor’s words gave him something to think about.
Then one day someone handed Senthil a Christian tract. God’s Word in it touched him, and the Lord began to work in his life. With Christmas approaching, Senthil’s brother—a GFA native missionary—asked him to help decorate the local church for a celebration. Senthil not only agreed to help; he also attended the special service. It proved to be a divine appointment when God spoke to Senthil through the message. “Being convicted of the Gospel truth,” he remembers, “I repented right there and received Jesus as my Savior and Lord.”
Senthil began to live for Christ. A few months later, his brother related the need for missionaries. Taking this revelation as a challenge to surrender, Senthil began to pray for guidance. God called him to ministry and, through his brother, provided for him to attend Bible college.
Today by the grace of God, instead of persecuting Christians, 23-year-old Senthil gladly follows his Master’s call. “Please pray for me,” he requests, “that I may fulfill God’s plan to expand His kingdom.”
